Our Story

We embarked on a labour of love to bring you our most delicious and vibrant extra virgin olive oil with its amazing heart health benefits conferred by the guaranteed, high level of polyphenols.

Our search for the perfect oil with all the nutritional qualities we know are so important for good heart health, took us across the Mediterranean before we discovered our expert growers’ in the heart of Andalusia, in the beautiful Sierra Morena.

Here, the perfect climate, altitude and soil conditions nurture the olives that allow us to produce our exceptional oil with its delicious, fresh and fruity taste.

Inside The Bottle

Our Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Harvested in November, golden yellow in colour with light green nuances, it combines the aromas of freshly-cut grass, balanced with sweet notes of tomato on the vine, fig and almonds and has a robust, peppery finish. As the olives turn a beautiful rainbow of greens and purples, they are lovingly cold pressed at a precise temperature and bottled within hours at our growers’ state of the art mill, protecting its precious flavours, aromas and naturally occurring heart health benefiting polyphenols.

Never Mixed or Blended

Made 100% from olives of the Picual variety, it is never mixed or blended and no additives or preservatives are used. Full traceability is guaranteed.

Super Rich In POlyphenols

At a minimum of 300mg/kg this is at least twice the level seen in most extra virgin olive oils and provides a wonderful synergy of taste and health benefits, promoting a healthy heart.

High In Healthy Unsaturated Fat**

Our oil is perfect for all culinary uses: cooking, dressings or drizzled over salads, vegetables, pasta, fish and meats.

Our Olive Oil Expert

Dr Simon Poole is an internationally acclaimed motivational and inspirational speaker, communicator and consultant in health promotion and wellness, the Mediterranean diet and lifestyle, and the nutrition of extra virgin olive oil.

With more than 30 years experience as a medical doctor, teacher and researcher in Cambridge, Simon is widely published in the media, radio and TV, as well as academic journals,the author of award-winning books including The Olive Oil Diet, The Real Mediterranean Diet,  The Diabetes for Dummies trilogy and Olive Oil for Dummies co-authored with Amy Riolo.

Simon is a Senior International Collaborator with the Global Centre for Nutrition and Health in Cambridge, a Member of the International Academy of Nutrition Educators and in 2018 was honoured with a Fellowship of the British Medical Association for services to the profession and public health.

Simon has given event, conference, masterclass and seminar presentations across numerous platforms and venues to a variety of audiences in the UK, USA, the Middle East, Africa and Australia and these have included The Pontifical Academy of the Vatican, Royal Colleges, Ivy League universities, international food and drink shows, and cultural exhibitions.

Our Growers

More than seventy years ago, a dedicated community of farmers came together to form a co-operative.

Their vision was to not only produce one of the finest quality extra virgin olive oils in the world, but to create a sustainable business to support the whole community.

Today, Picualia has more than 950 farmers as their growers’ family.

Their award-winning mill is eco-friendly, fully sustainable and one of a kind in Spain. Olive stones are not only used as fuel to heat the mill, but also the homes of the local community through a biomass system and a regenerative water system has been constructed to maximise the utilisation of rainfall.
